This 11 day package provides the time necessary to truly explore all that the northern region of Argentina and Chile have to offer. Experience Andean cultures that have withstood the test of time, Salta City, and the National Flamingo Reserve. With a vacation package so full of activities, a relaxing dip into the soothing waters of El Tatio Hot Springs will leave you relaxed and ready for more.
Day 1 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
After the welcome at the International Airport of Ezeiza, the trip to the selected hotel will take place. Spend the rest of your day at leisure.
Day 2 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
During this day, enjoy a city tour of Buenos Aires, showing its different districts, communities and architectural styles. Free afternoon for shopping and exploring around the city. Return to your hotel upong completion.
Day 3 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
After breakfast we embark on a half day Tigre Tour to visit the Paraná Delta. We will also visit the residential slums of the north area of the city, passing by the presidential residence in Olivos district.
We then board the Train of the Coast, whose route along the coast of the De La Plata River allows us to capture amazing sites of its attractive ravines. Once in Tigre area, we will board a catamaran to enjoy a wonderfully relaxing trip with spectacular views of the Paraná Delta, an area of subtropical rainforest consisting of a thousand islands and islets.
Return to the city center upon tour completion.
Day 4 - Buenos Aires / Salta
We travel to the local airport for a flight to Salta City. After our arrival welcoming, we will visit the Capital City of Salta. Salta is best known for its singular beauty in terms of unique architecture and landscapes.
Day 5 - Salta / Quebrada de Humahuaca / Salta
We leave early in the morning to the province of Jujuy, reaching the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a natural climb up to the High Plains. The colorful landscapes frame a group of towns, with adobe brick houses, historical chapels and prehispanic ruins that have existed without change over time.
We will visit the beautiful towns of Purmamarca, Maimará, Tilcara, and Humahuaca. This singular and natural route, known as "La Quebrada de Humahuaca" (Humahuaca's Valley) was declared by UNESCO as a Cultural Landscape of Humanity on July 2, 2003. At night, return to Salta for your hotel stay.
Day 6 - Salta / Cafayate / Salta
Today can be enjoyed at your leisure. For those that prefer to enjoy an optional tour, we recommend a day tour to Cafayate to visit the peculiar geography, and its colorful landscape. Once in Cafayate, you can see the tremendous local vineyards of the region.
Day 7 - Salta / Paso de Jama / San Pedro de Atacama
Transfer to the local bus station for a trip to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. In route to San Pedro, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Andes. San Pedro is considered an oasis town whose inhabitants still remain faithful to their traditional culture.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 8 - San Pedro / Lagoons and Salt Lake / San Pedro
At 7:00 depart from your hotel. On the way visit the town of Toconao where you can experience the creative display of local handcrafts. Afterwards, we will visit the Atacama Salt Lake, where breakfast will be served in front of the Chaxa Lagoon, the National Flamingo Reserve. After breakfast, we continue towards the Miscanti and Meñique Lagoons, located in over 4.000 m.a.s.l. We then enjoy a short visit in the town of Socaire where you can see the traditional Incan terrace cultivation.
Upon completion, you will return to San Pedro for an afternoon arrival at your hotel.
Day 9 - San Pedro de Atacama
After breakfast, you will visit the archeological museum, Padre Le Paige, where you can see an impressive collection of crafts and historical information on the Atacameña culture. After Padre Le Paige Museum, we continue towards the Pukará de Quitor and the ruins of Tulor.
Return to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon excursion to the Moon Valley, the home of the slat-statues "Three Maries", salt-mine, outlook, and salt-caves. Here, you should experience a beautifully unforgettable sunset from high atop the sand dune. Upong completion, return to San Pedro hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 10 - San Pedro / Geysers / Towns / Calama / Santiago
Depart from the hotel at 4:00 A.M. for travel to the geothermal field of El Tatio Hot Springs located at 4.320 m.a.s.l. El Tatio is famous for its active geysers and fumaroles, and if the timing is just right, you might be interested in bathing in the hot therms (35 degrees celsius). Breakfast to be served picnic-style.
After your visit to El Tatio Hot Springs, continue to the towns of Caspana, Pukará de Lasana (11th century ruins) and the town of Chiu-Chiu, home to the oldest Chilean church. Take an afternoon transfer to the Airport of Calama for a flight to Santiago, Chile. Upon flight arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 11 - Santiago / End of Trip
Transfer to the International Airport for return flight home. This marks the end of our services.
