This 8 day travel package to Ecuador includes visits to the Capital City of Quito, The Galapagos and surrounding islands. Cruise the regional islands in style with opportunities for snorkeling and plenty of wildlife sights.

Day 1 - Quito / Overnight in Quito

Transfer in Quito – Hotel accommodation.

 

Day 2 - City tour and Middle of the World / Overnight in Quito

The tour begins with a great view of Orellana's way and Guapulo Sanctuary (XVII Century). We continue downtown, where we will take a walk visiting the Independence Square, surrounded by historically important buildings such us the Cathedral (XVI Century), the Presidential Palace, El Sagrario Church (XVII Century), and one of the most beautiful baroque churches in South America, La Compaņia de Jesus (XVII Century). After stops to take pictures or just to take your breath back, we will visit the Church and Monastery of San Francisco built shortly after the Spaniards arrival (XVI Century).

Afterwards visit to the Panecillo Hill where the Virgin of Quito, is located. From this perspective you will be delighted by the spectacular view of Colonial Quito. We then continue this tour as we drive 15 Km. north of Quito towards "The Middle of the World". Here you will have two options. You may choose between either a visit the Ethnographic Museum or the Inti Ņan Museum.

The Ethnographic Museum is located inside the Equator Monument, which includes a presentation of the main cultures of Ecuador. This monument was built to commemorate the Geodesic Scientific Mission, which came to Ecuador during the 19th century to study and measure the Earth Meridian.

The Inti Ņan Museum is a scientific and cultural Museum located in the exact place where the Equator Line crosses and where you will be shown with multiple scientifice experiments that you are truly on the 0° Meridian.

 

Day 3 - Galapagos Islands

Transfer out. Flight from Quito to the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, your guide will assist you in the transfer to your ship. A welcoming presentation and lunch will take place before the first visit. An afternoon visit to Las Bachas, a white sandy beach, to see the nesting area of sea turtles. Watch for pink flamingos and migratory birds.

Dinner and overnight accommodations onboard the ship.

 

Day 4 - Galapagos Islands

In the morning and after a delicious breakfast, we visit Plazas Island, where we hope to see sea lion colonies, marine iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls and other birds. Return to the ship for lunch. Afternoon visit to Santa Fe Island, a small 25km island, the home of land iguanas.

Return back to the ship for dinner. Overnight accommodations onboard the ship.

 

Day 5 - Galapagos Islands

This day, you will spend visiting one of the most beautiful Islands of the Archipelago. In the morning we visit Suarez Point, where you will find sea lions, marine iguanas and blue-footed boobies. After lunch onboard the ship, we disembark for Gardner Bay to swim, and snorkel. We will see Lion Fish and observe flycatchers and possibly even Galapagos Hawks.

Return back to the boat for dinner. Overnight accommodations onboard the ship.

 

Day 6 - Galapagos Islands

A full day on the amazingly historic island of Floreana. In the morning visit Cormorant Point, where we trek down a path towards a wonderful lagoon where flamingos are often seen. Pass by Carolina Beach, a sea turtle nesting area, and a superb vantage point for spotting sea birds and sea rays. After lunch onboard the ship, we sail towards Post Office Bay, (named for being home to the first post office of the islands...a wooden barrel) established in 1973.

Return back to the ship for dinner. Overnight accommodations onboard the ship.

 

Day 7 - Guayaquil or Quito / Overnight

Morning arrival at Santa Cruz Island. Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station. Then transfer to Baltra.

Flight to Guayaquil or Quito. Transfer in.

 

Day 8 - End of Trip

Transfer out to for international flight home.
