Welcome to the world of fun and adventure in Panama. You will be taken to sites you only have seen in movies like Jurassic Park. Panama is full of nature attractions and what a there is not better way to experience them all but through our package of adventures.

Day 1 Monday - Arrival Day

Airport transfer and hotel accommodations at Gamboa Rainforest Resort.

 

Day 2 Barro Colorado

Your tour begins with a full day tour from 6:30am to 4:00pm to the Barro Colorado Island on Gatun Lake. Transfer from the Gamboa Resort to STRI pier to board a boat to Barro Colorado Island. This is a Smithsonian Institute study on Gatun Lake to study this natural flora and fauna. You will see monkeys, reptiles, birds and much more on this adventure. Day 3 Kayak the Chagras

Breakfast at Gamboa. The tour begins at 7 am, when our transportation will pick you up at your hotel. We will kayak the Chagres River. Our tour guide will explain the history and the importance of this structure. We continue to a bridge about 1 mile from the dam where we will take our kayaks and begin our tour through the Chagres River. Paddling down river, surrounded by countryside and the tropical rain forest that covers both sides of the Panama Canal, you slowly realize where you are and experience a gradual burst of adrenaline. We kayak four (4) hours destined for an arrival at the historical remains of a town named Ventas de Cruces, from Spaniard times. After a short visit, we continue down river until reaching the mouth of The Chagres River as it meets with the Panama Canal.

Finally we will arrive to the Gamboa public pier and return to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Entire duration of this tour is approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Day 4 Native Panama

Breakfast at Gamboa and then check out. Afterwards, at approximately 8:00 a.m, we will transfer to the Port of Corotu to visit an indigenous community living harmoniously with nature on the banks of the Chagres River. This Embera tribe forms part of seven indigenous groups that inhabit Panama. They sustain themselves mostly by fishing, hunting, and agricultural. After a short boat ride on the Chagres River, we arrive at the village where we experience their cultures and traditions. The discovery of this indigenous village is considered a new tourist destination, and the villagers opens its doors to all tourists.

You will be given a typical lunch consisting of fried fish and plantains. Return to The El Panama for check in and overnight.

Day 5 Spanish Trail Day

After an early departure, we begin trekking at 7:00 a.m., enjoying all the beauty of this historic and natural Las Cruces Trail, located along the Panama Canal, and between Panama and Colon Provinces. The famous Las Cruces Trail (Camino de Cruces) preserves the remains of an ancient cobblestone road. If we get lucky we might get to see the wildlife that inhabits this historic path. We will be able to see many different trees and plants located along the path as we hike. This route will take us to a famous plantation road that leads us out of the forest and to a place where we can take a brief rest, eat a boxed lunch and recuperate our energies.

It is very important for participants to have proper foot wear, and be in excellent physical condition as we will be in the jungle and will be walking the entire time. A back pack is recommended to carry your water, snacks and boxed lunch. Overnight EL Panama Hotel

Day 6 Portobello / Adrenaline Factory

Breakfast at El Panama - Our tour starts with a 6:30 a.m. pick up for your transfer to the Corozal Train Station for a historical train ride to the Atlantic Colon City. Upon arrival we drive to the historic town of Portobello for sightseeing of monuments, custom house, the Black Christ, San Geronimo and Santiago de la Gloria fortresses.

Before returning to Panama City, we will make a quick stop to experience a Canopy Tour developed by scientists to study the biodiversity found in the canopy of trees. It is the only one on the Panamanian Atlantic coast. This program allows anyone to rise to the top of the trees and switch on the adrenaline as you swish through the air from one gigantic tree to another. Overnight EL Panama Hotel

Day 7 Lake Bayano Caves

Breakfast at hotel. The tour to Panama's Bayano Lake Caves is an experience that touches the human spirit. Discovering a natural place of such enormous beauty is an experience that fills the senses. The Tour leaves at 7:00 a.m. from Panama City. After approximately an hour and forty five minutes by land, we arrive in Caņita, and board a boat for a thirty minute ride to the entrance of the caves.

We will find that a variety of small animals inhabit this dark ecosystem full of enormous limestone rock formations that surround the crystalline lagoon. It is possible we will see many bird species on this tour such as the Neotropic Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Great Egret, Black Vulture, Osprey, Broad-winged Hawk, Ringed Kingfisher, Toucans, Great Kiskadee, and the Crested Caracara. We may also get to see mammals such as the Mantled Howler Monkey, Neotropical River Otter, Three-toed Sloth, Northern Tamandua, and the Short-tailed Fruit Bat. Reptiles like the Green Iguana, Brown Vine Snake, Tiger Rat Snake, and the Fer-de-Lance are occasionally spotted. Overnight EL Panama Hotel

Day 8 Departure Day

Breakfast as time allows then transfer to Tocumen for your international flight.
