Hike the Inca Trail

Prepare yourself for the trip of a lifetime, but lace your boots up tight, because this package includes a 4 day trek through some of the most beautiful natural landscapes  known to man!  Vistas of Machu Picchu and majestic snow capped mountains will surely have your heart and mind fluttering with excitement so remember ...forgetting your camera is not acceptable.

Day 1 - ARRIVAL TO LIMA

Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with a detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. Overnight - in Lima

Day 2: VISIT LIMA

In the afternoon, a trip to the essential Lima, "The City of Kings" including the most important architectural icons of the city, such as the Main Square, where you can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Then, we continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel dating back to the 16th century. On our way to the modern area of the city, we will cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, the new financial heart of the city, to take a look at pre-inca Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, we conclude our circuit in Miraflores, where we will visit the "Parque del Amor" (Love Park) an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight in Lima.

Day 3: TRANSFER TO CUSCO AND TOURTO SACSAYHUAMAN

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception by our representatives and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the morning is free to rest and get acclimatized to the altitude. In the afternoon, we will visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We start our trip visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, and ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, we will stop at the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compañía. Going on with the tour, we will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domains the city. Finally, we will take a look at the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, located north east of the city. As a suggestion to mysticism and esoterism lovers, the Sacsayhuaman Complex is an excellent spot to hold meditation sessions. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 4: PISAC MARKET AND OLLANTAYTAMBO AND THE SACRED VALLEY

We will drive towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. We will stop on the way to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley with crops dressing the mountains like carpets. We will arrive to the colorful market of Pisac, where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. We will continue to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch. Finally, we will visit Ollantaytambo, attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable channels and stone streets. In its high part one rises to an impressive ceremonial center of cult to the water and a fortress that guarded the access to the inferior part of the valley. Overnight - in the Sacred Valley

Day 5: 4D/3N INCA TRAIL

Collection from hotel, where we will stop approximately 45 minutes , to collect porters and equipment. Begin making our way to kilometer 82, where we will begin our trek, our pace will be an acclimatization and very soon we will stop at our first archaeological complex, Llactapata, at kilometer 88 (2,550 m above sea level, 30 minutes to visit this archaeological complex, before continuing our walk to Wayllabama we will camp.

Day 6: INCA TRAIL HIKE

After breakfast we will begin our walk through the valley of wallabamba. On our journey we will be able to observe the nature and ecological change of the area until we arrive in (Yuncachimpa) Wallabamba, from where we will climb to Llulluchapampa at 3750 meters. From this point we will be able to appreciate the valley of Huayanay and the first step is located at 4,200 m.s.n.m. Camp in the sector of Pacaymayo.

Day 7: INCA TRAIL HIKE

Breakfast.  We will ascend to Runkurakay at 3860 meters. Contrary to the previous days, our walk will be two hours longer. We will be able to visit another small complex, Sayamarca, and appreciate the Valleys and snow capped mountains. Further on, we will stop to visit the complex of Phuyupatamarca and then descend 3 kilometers until we arrive to a place called Wiñaywayna where we will visit its complex of Phuyupatamarca. Next, we will descend 3 kilometers until we arrive to a place called Wiñaywayna, where we will visit its complex and camp.

Day 8: MACHU PICCHU

Early morning breakfast. Afterwards we will walk to The Door of Sun where we will be able to observe the impressive Lost City of Machu Picchu and continue to the Sanctuary for a guided tour. At a suitable hour we will walk down to the station and take the train back to Cusco. Reception and transfer to Hotel. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 9

Return to Lima - if flight time allows depart for international flight today otherwise overnight in Lima as need. Price does not include the additional night - available at additional cost once we know international flight itinerary.

Additional Notes
  • Cathedral of Lima open everyday except on Sunday.
  • Cathedral of Cusco is closed Thursday and Sunday in the morning.
  • For passengers traveling from Peru or Bolivia to Brazil and Venezuela the yellow fever vaccination is compulsory. Condor Travel is not responsible for any vaccination regulations.
  • For hotel accommodation, in case of any cancellation or no show, 19% taxes shall be applied on the hotel's room rate.
  • Due to the ever changing nature of the rainforest, day-by-day activities may vary due to local conditions. Also the suggested itinerary may vary depending the flights schedule so the final itinerary will be confirmed just when the flights are confirmed.
  • Booking, prepayment and cancellation conditions for the Inca Trail
  • According to the Inca Trail Regulation and Management, which refers to Inca Trail space bookings, bookings will only be guaranteed by the governmental institutions when providing full names, nationalities and passport numbers of passengers, and when having paid the full amount of passengers and staff (cook and team of porters) entrance fees. Therefore there is no booking system but only upon purchase of the tickets (non-refundable), prepayment amount required: USD 300.00 per person, which will be discounted on the final invoice.
  • CONDOR will guarantee the spaces booked provided:

    . The booking has been first confirmed by our Reservation Department by e-mail, this meaning that spaces are available on the Inca Trail for the requested date at the moment of the booking.

    . The full passenger data have been provided and the required deposit has been paid for.

  • Since the Inca Trail has a maximum allowance of 500 people per day (including passengers and agency staff), we strongly recommend to make your bookings as much in advance as possible to make sure you will find spaces on the desired departure date. We are already receiving bookings for departures scheduled as far as one year prior to the trek departure date, so if you wish to travel with us to the Inca Trail, please make sure to confirm your booking as soon as possible. Otherwise, we have also available alternative routes of equally awesome beauty and interest to offer to you.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: The following client information is requested for any Inca Trail booking:

    . Complete names and surnames

    . Nationality

    . Passport number

    . Date of Birth

    . Gender
  • The exact information provided by you will be submitted to the governmental institution in charge of regulating the access to the Inca Trail and will be included in the official permit to enter the Inca Trail on the requested date. Should there be any change in the above-mentioned data (ie. New passport number), we kindly request you to inform the Reservation Department at CONDOR via email as soon as possible. The government reserves the right not to allow the entry to any visitor whose data are not the exact ones as those in the official permit.
