Travel Itinerary
Welcome to Buenos Aires, the 'Paris of South America'. You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon we will discover the magic of Buenos Aires in a half day city tour in which you will visit the National Congress, Ancient Council, Metropolitan Cathedral and the Capitol (better known as "Pink House"). The buildings that surround the "Mayo Square" consist of the above mentioned spots.
The tour also includes the magnificent areas of Recoleta and Palermo, with their beautiful parks and buildings, the Colon Theatre, one of the five most important opera theatres of the world and many other buildings and palaces of architectural, historical and cultural interest. We will visit the San Telmo area, one of the most antique districts of the city, as well as the Boca district, with its "caminito"- a picturesque pedestrian street, where you will find its colorful metal sheet tenements.
Finally, the tour will lead us to the recently renovated district of Puerto Madero, old area of the Buenos Aires port. Return to hotel for overnight accommodations.
Breakfast is included.
We go to the local airport for flight to Calafate. Arrival and transfer to hotel. Free afternoon. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations.
Breakfast is included.
Full day tour to The National Park Los Glaciares, visiting Perito Moreno Glacier. This natural monument of extraordinary beauty has been declared by UNESCO as Humanity Patrimony. Once inside the park we will be able to observe the arboreal vegetation of the Patagonia Andean forest, which is mainly from the "notofagus" family. Further on, we will have access to the footbridges of the glacier, with fantastic panoramic viewpoints. In this area many glaciers exist, and the most famous is the Perito Moreno: it has a frontage of 3.12 miles and is 60 meters above the level of the Argentine Lake, and a total surface area exceeding that of many major cities. It is one of the few glaciers that are still in full advance. During any season of the year the visitor can enjoy its constant collapses of ice towers that break into multiple ice floes. After the tour, we return to the hotel for overnight accommodations.
Breakfast is included.
Day free at leisure. We recommend booking a tour to sail along the Argentine Lake to visit the glacier field. You could see the Upsala Glacier (the largest in terms of size and surface), the Spegazzini, and Onelli Glacier. This afternoon, we go to the local airport for flight to Ushuaia. Arrive and transfer to the hotel for overnight accommodations.
Breakfast is included.
After breakfast we will make the half-day visit to the National Park of Tierra del Fuego. Here guanacos, red foxes, beavers and condors live together among forests of cherry trees and lenga trees. During the tour we travel deep into the rugged topography and along the crossing mountain roads towards the "Lapataia" River, where we have an excellent view of the Green Small Lake and Lapataia Bay. Here there are several archaeological zones identified as home to the original inhabitants (Onas or Yamanes). During the tour, we will visit the Train Station of the Southern Fuegian Railway Station of "THE END OF THE WORLD", and we will make a stop (optionally) to take the train that travels through the National Park.
During the afternoon we will sail along the Beagle Channel, and can observe seals and different species of seabirds. The tour continues to the centre of the Beagle Channel, reaching the Lighthouse Les Eclaireurs, in the homonym archipelago. This lighthouse sometimes is mistaken with the one of "THE END OF THE WORLD", which is located at the States Island and marks the waterway access for incoming ships entering the Ushuaia Bay. The catamaran continues the trip towards the Birds Island where the majestic Imperial and Magallanes Cormorants, Albatross, and Petrel birds; among other species, may be observed. Return to hotel for overnight accommodations.
Breakfast is included.
Breakfast at hotel. Free time. Then we travel to the local airport for returning flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, we are greeted and transferred to the hotel. Time free at leisure. For evening we recommend a visit to one of the famous tango houses in Buenos Aires.
Breakfast is included.
