The perfect trip for the active traveler; come with us as we explore the Inca Trail. We will follow the original footprints of the Incas toward Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Explore the mysteries of our ancestors and experience the incredible road development of the Incas. Through the four days that we hike the trail, we will be part of the Andean world and will have the opportunity to visit different archaeological areas. Along the trail, we will experience different environments and ecosystems before reaching the highest pass at over 4200 meters above sea level.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1



- Arrive to Lima and transfer to hotel.


- A visit to the modern and colonial parts of the city of Lima the "City of Kings", starting in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, including an overview of the impressive Huaca Huallamarca.

- The tour later takes you to the Historic Centre, for a visit to the Santo Domingo Convent -a World Heritage Site- where the remains of our patron saints St. Martin of Porres and Saint Rose of Lima lie.

- See the Main Square, surrounded by the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Municipality of Lima and the Cathedral. This section ends with a stop to sample a pisco sour.

- The final part of the tour takes you to the Larco Museum, an incomparable private collection of treasures from ancient Peru. This inspiring collection helps visitors to understand and enjoy more than five thousand years of Peruvian history, represented by more than 45,000 exhibits.

Day 2


Lima, Cusco

- Transfer to airport for flight to Cusco.


- You will visit the modern and colonial parts of the city of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting with the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro before heading to the Historic Center.

- Once there, you will visit the impressive Santo Domingo Convent, which will astonish you with its colonial style. Then, you will walk to the Plaza de Armas, where you can take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it.

- Afterwards, you will go to the Chocolate Museum to have an exquisite experience with Peruvian cocoa before heading to the Museo del Pisco to taste the traditional Peruvian liquor. Upon leaving the Historic Center, you will head towards the Larco Museum, which houses the incomparable Treasures of Ancient Peru private collection.


- You will live a one-of-a-kind experience at the Planetarium Cusco -located 15 minutes from the city- where you will learn about the important relationship between the Andean man and the cosmos.

- Thanks to a special team, a starry sky and constellation drawings will be projected, which will allow you to see the wonders of the universe up close.

- Finally, you will go to the exterior of the Planetarium where, if the weather permits, you will be able to witness "the oldest show in the world", observing stars and constellations through telescopes and other astronomical observation instruments.

Day 3


Cusco, Sacred Valley


- You will head towards the Raqchi viewpoint, from where you will have a privileged view of the Urubamba Valley.

- Then, you will head to Moray, a fascinating archaeological site in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit its huge concentric terraces, which the Incas used as a botanical laboratory.

- Then, you will visit the Maras salt mines, where the finest salt in the world is extracted: Maras salt. You will then head to a restaurant in Urubamba, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch.

- Continue to Ollantaytambo where you can visit the archaeological complex of the same name, one of the largest in Peru, which is strategically located on top of a mountain.

- Afterwards, you will descend to the town of Ollantaytambo, which stands out for maintaining the Inca urban planning as part of its original urban layout, with some buildings and narrow stone streets. You can tour the town and visit the local market.

Day 4


Sacred Valley


- You will be picked up from your hotel for the trip to Lake Piuray, where your day of sports and adventure begins. First, choose between stand up paddle or kayak.

- Then you will be given a safety talk and practice paddling techniques on dry land. Once on the water you will get to know your board before the activities begin.

- While you are on the lake you can appreciate the area's spectacular scenery. At the end of your water borne experience, enjoy a snack in the open air surrounded by natural beauty.

Day 5




- Early morning bus drive to the head of our trail at Km 82 from where we continue along the Urubamba River to the first archaeological site "Llaqtapata".

- Here we enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting. After a rest we continue into the side valley starting to gain altitude until we get to the last village Huayllabamba where we camp for today.

Day 6




- After a healthy breakfast we start climbing up to the first pass "Warmiwañusca" (4200 Mt/ 14'200 Ft). The climb will take us most of the morning.

- From here we descend for about 2 hours into the valley to our next camp "Pacaymayo".

Day 7




- Today is going to be the most diverse day. We start in the morning with the ascent of the second pass "Runcuracay" (3900 Mt/ 13'800 Ft) and descend on the other side for about 2 hours to the beautiful archaeological site "Sayacmarca".

- After having explored this unique place we continue on the original stone path of the Incas through semi-tropical cloud forest onto the third pass "Phuyupatamarca" (3800 Mt/ 13'600 Ft). With good weather we have spectacular views of the surrounding snow peaks and the valley below.

- From here it is all downhill to our camp at "Wiñaywayna" (one of the most beautiful sites in the area for its construction and setting).

Day 8


Machu Picchu, Cusco

- Early after a tasty breakfast we hike another 2 hours through cloud forest to the famous sun gate "Intipunku" from where we have the first breathtaking view and best panorama of the mysterious "Machupicchu".

- A short walk brings us down to the site. After refreshing a little we will visit "the lost city of the Incas" in a guided tour for app. 2 hrs. After that we descend by bus to the village Aguas Calientes.

- After lunch we take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer by bus to Cusco.

Day 9


Cusco, Lima

- Transfer to airport for departing flight(s) home.

 Package Notes

  • Inca Trail spaces are subject to availability. We can not confirm any entrance until a deposit of $260 pp has been paid, and our Cusco Operations Department informs us that they have successfully purchased the space.
  • The Inca Trail program is quoted with shared services; therefore it has fixed dates: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Private services available upon request at additional cost.
  • The Inca Trail is not operational in February. Only 500 spaces available per day.
  • Price is per person in double occupancy.
  • To prevent any loss due to cancellation, travel insurance is recommended.
