Colombia November 3-11. As agents we want to learn about new and interesting emerging destinations. With this FAM trip we will highlight two strategic regions of Colombia to expose you to this destination and all that is has to offer you as a new option for your clients wanting to experience somewhere new and different. We will experience Bogota, Villa De Leyva and surrounding area then head to Cartagena to explore that area. Most of us know it as cruise port, but there is so much more to do and see. You will get a chance to experience it.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer in Bogotá

Transfer by land from El Dorado International Airport to Selected Hotel at Bogota.

Accommodation in Atton Hotel or Similar. Included: Transport, Guide

Day 2

Bogota

Visit to the Salt Cathedral Zipaquira

Transfer to the town of Zipaquira located at 49 kilometers from Bogotá. On the way, panoramic view of the Sabana conutryside and El Puente del Comun. Upon arrival we will have a preferential entrance to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira considered as the first wonder of Colombia. Inside we will visit the stations of the Cross, the Dome, the Narthez labyrinth and the three naves. After visiting the mine, short city tour around the colonial town of Zipaquira before returning to Bogotá. Entrance to the Salt Cathedral

Day 3

Bogotá City Tour

English speaking guide will meet you at the hotel lobby for a panoramic tour of the historical center of the city: La Candelaria. Visit to the Botero Museum; one of the most important art collections in Latin America. Composed of 85 works by some of the most representative creators of art history of the nineteenth and early twentieth century and 123 works including drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, pastels and sculptures by the Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Continue to the Museum St. Clara Church "Museo Iglesia Santa Clara", which is probably the most representative of Bogotá's colonial churches. Continue with the visit to the Gold Museum. The museum that was created in 1939 by the Bank of the Republic, gathers about 34,000 pieces of goldsmith's work and 20,000 of lithic objects, ceramics, textiles and precious stones belonging to the cultures Quimbaya, Calima, Tayrona, Sinú, Muisca, Tolima, Tumaco and Malagana, among others. It is possible to admire exquisite gold pieces such as pectorals, masks, poporos, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, containers and hundreds of figures of remarkable quality.

Day 4

Transfer out Bogota and transfer in Cartagena

Transfer in - Cartagena: Transfer by land from Rafael Nuñez International Airport to Hotel selected.

Dinner at Club de Pesca.

Day 5

Half City tour Cartagena

Visit to the walled city, where we will wander the narrow cobbled streets and squares inside the walled city and visit the majestic Church of San Pedro Claver. Built to honor the patron saint of slaves, the missionary Peter Claver, this historic church contains numerous statues and old furnishings. It was built between 1580 and 1654 and is a Colombian National Monument. We will then proceed to the Palace of the Inquisition, which served as headquarters to the Court of the Holy Inquisition. Inside we will see prison cells and torture chambers: the actual passing of the sentences used to take place in public, in the middle of the plaza. Next, we continue to the visit to Getsemaní neighborhood This neighborhood near the Cartagena Convention Center is an example of the cultural mix that gave rise to the city; the streets are full of foreigners and Colombians from other areas seeking a bar or club to dance salsa and cumbia. Music blares from the houses so everyone can join the dance. Neighborhood walls have become galleries for graffiti artists. Getsemaní was the birthplace of the revolt against Spanish rule in the early 19th century.

Day 6

Full day Isla del Encanto

60 minutes by boat from Cartagena, inside the Corales del Rosario Park is located ISLA DEL ENCANTO a private island with approx. 300 meters of beach where the sun, sand, and sea are your allies to enjoy your holiday intensely. Isla del Encanto is the place where service and relax combine to give you a full experience. The tour includes: Transfer Hotel - Muelle-Hotel, transfer by shared boat Cartagena-Isla-Cartagena, typical lunch.

Departure taxes are not included and must be paid directly at the pier. Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
