National Park Los Glaciares and Perito Moreno Glacier Tour

8 +/- hours

Tour Description

Located near the Chilean border, Los Glaciares National Park gets its name from the many glaciers that are created from the ice cap. This natural monument of extraordinary beauty has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

From Calafate, we will travel about 50 miles to the park. There, we will view the most famous glacier, Perito Moreno, with its fantastic panoramic views. This glacier has a frontage of 3.12 miles and is 60 meters above the level of Lago Argentino, which is the largest lake in Argentina. The lake is fed by glacial meltwater, which gives it a beautiful milky blue color. Perito Moreno has a surface area exceeding that of some of the major cities of the world. This is one of the few glaciers that is still in full advance. During any season of the year, visitors can enjoy the constant collapses of ice towers that break into multiple ice floes.

 Tour Notes

  • The park also offers alternative and optional tours, such as tours to the lakes or mini-trekking along the Perito Moreno glacier.
